Frequent Asked Question (FAQ)

eTank

eTank - Stainless Steel Water Storage Tank

Q1: WHAT MATERIAL DOES ESTEEL USE FOR THE WATER TANK STAND?

A1: We utilize SUS304 stainless steel for our water tank stands

Q2: HOW DO I SELECT THE APPROPRIATE ESTEEL WATER TANK SIZE FOR MY HOME?

A2: Based on an average daily consumption of 200L per person. For a household of 5 individuals, a 1000L water tank can provide sufficient water supply for approximately 1 day in the event of a water cut.

Q3: WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN STAINLESS STEEL WATER TANKS 304 AND 316?

A3: 304 stainless steel has 18% chromium and 8% nickel, providing good corrosion resistance. 316 stainless steel has similar chromium and more nickel, plus molybdenum for extra corrosion resistance, especially against chlorides. Both are non-magnetic and suitable for different applications.

Q4: IS THERE ANYTHING 304 STAINLESS STEEL WATER TANKS AREN’T SUITABLE FOR?

A4: While a 304 stainless steel water tank is suitable for SUS304/316, ABS, PVC & POLY Fitting. To prevent rust from corroding the Water Tank, MILD STEEL fitting is strictly prohibited.

Q5: WILL STAINLESS STEEL WATER TANKS RUST?

A5: No, stainless steel remains rust-free due to a protective chromium oxide film on its surface. Adequate ventilation during installation is crucial to prevent potential damage from chlorine.

Q6: CAN STAINLESS STEEL WATER TANKS BE PLACED INDOORS OR IN THE BASEMENT?

A6: It is not recommended, Stainless steel water tanks aren’t ideal for indoor or basement placement due to the risk of rust caused by chlorine gas buildup.

Q7: WHY WATER TANK NEED USE AIR VENTILATION CAP

A7: Air ventilation caps are essential to prevent rust from chlorine exposure. eSteel uses SUS304 caps for rust resistance, allowing efficient chlorine removal for smooth water flow and ample airflow.

Q8: DO ESTEEL SELL WATER PUMP?

A8: No, we do not sell water pumps. Our focus is solely on manufacturing and supply water tanks.

Q9: WHY THE WATER TANK USING C-SHAPE S/S STAND FOR THE SUPPORT?

A9: The C-shaped stainless steel stand supports the tank by distributing its weight evenly, preventing collapse. Its inclined design and cushioning ensure stability under pressure.

Q10: DO I NEED A PLUMBER TO INSTALL MY TANK?

A10: Yes, you should hire a plumber, especially if you’re connecting your tank to your home’s water supply for various uses like laundry or toilet flushing.

Q11: HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO CLEAN MY TANK?

A11: To remove impurities and sediment buildup, open the drain valve for a few minutes every 3 months. Clear water will follow the initial discharge of mud.

Q12: WHAT IS THE THICKNESS FOR ESTEEL ETANK BODY AND STAND?

A12: The thickness of the eSteel eTank body and stand varies based on the tank size:

For tank capacities above 2000L:

  • Body thickness: 0.80mm
  • Stand thickness: 2.00mm

For tank capacities below 2000L:

  • Body thickness: 0.62mm

eSolar

eSolar - Solar Hot Water System

Q1. Which Model/Capacity to choose?

A1:

a. The table above is based on a rain shower head with 6” and each person shower maximum up to 10 minutes per time.

b. All the calculation above are for guidelines only, there are many others factors will affect the result such as: weather conditions, usage of water, in/outlet water pressure ands size of rain shower head.

c. As the table above, households with up to 4 people should choose CX180 (180 liters). For those household with more then 6 people, you may chose CX300 (300 liters).

d. To be reminded, for those customer who are using bathtub or jacuzzi should choose the larger capacity to fulfill the needs – factor in about 15 gallons (68l) peruse for a regular bathtub.

Q2. Where to allocate the solar hot water system?

A2:

a. Facing direction (accordingly)

  • South
  • North
  • East
  • West

b. Height (Recommended)

  • To avoid the blockages, the solar system should place at the height of the building.

c. Roof trust

  • The roof trusses should strong enough to support the weight of solar system (about 400kg)
  • Re-in-force the roof trusses for old buildings are recommended

Q3. What is the preparation before installation?

A3:

  • Both hot and cold water pipping. (Hot water pipping should made of copper pipe, stainless steel pipe, PA pipe, PPR pipe or other approved hot water pipping.)
  • 15 Amp single phase wiring/plug point.
  • Water pressure pump (to increase the water pressure to support the larger rain shower head)
  • Water and electricity supply

Q4. What type of roof can install the solar water heater?

A4: Solar hot water system can be mounted at any positions, however we will usually recommended that the Solar hot water system should be installed at an inclination. We advise you to installation at highest location for optimum heat absorption.

For flat roof installation, an angled aluminium rack should be installed to provide necessary inclination.

Q5. What is the basic installation included?

A5:

  • Three (3) meter of hot and cold stainless steel piping for solar hot water system in/outlet.
  • 3kW backup electrical booster and thermostat
  • Pressure temperature valve (PT Valve) to control the pressure

Q6. What are the things excluded in the basic installation?

A6:

  • Pipping insulation
  • Aluminium rack for flat roof installation
  • Crane charges
  • Water pressure pump
  • Mixer taps
  • Extra hot/cold water pipes which more than 10 feet
  • Internal house’s power point for the backup heater

Q7. When should I turn on the heating element?

A7:

  • Raining season
  • Over usage of hot water
  • Hazy season

Q8. Will I get hot water even on rainy days or nights?

A8: A short period of rainfall will not affect the supply of hot water because Solar hot water tanks are insulated with 50mm of high-density polyurethane and fiberglass wool to retain heats. On an average, it heats water to 70°C in the day and loses only about 8% of heat at night. Even if it is overcasts, there is enough radiated heat to maintain the temperatures of the water at a comfortable level. However, if there are few days of cloudy day, it would require to switch on the backup heater.

Q9. Do I need to install a water pressure pump for the solar?

A9: eSolar – Solar hot water system are high-pressure systems which means you only need one water pump to drive both cold and hot water throughout the house. It does not need to have a pump for its circulation through the system.

Our solar hot water system uses Thermosiphon system in heating, when the water is heated it rises. However, we are always recommend customer to purchase a pump for the cold water tank to increase the pressure of cold water for a better enjoyment.

Q10. How much do I save?

A10: Appliances with heating elements consume the most electricity in our homes. Using eSolar – Solar hot water system will help you make significant saving when compared to the cost of purchasing, installing and using instant heater and boilers.

Below is a typical comparison in between Instant heater and eSolar – Solar hot water system.

Instant Heater

Number of Heater: 4 unit

Cost per instant heater: RM350
